The Devil's Revenge
Edits are flying through, chapters drifting into my beta readers inboxes. So far reports back give it a thumbs up as a thrilling and intriguing ride. I'm still looking at a late June 2026 release date with or without a pre-order.
A small snippet from the prologue
He didn’t recall her name or voice, he recalled the way her body moved in time with the music.
The memory returned as he sat alone, the night air thick and still. With each pirouette, the tulle cloud swirled around her body. Slippers gliding across the slick studio floor, which mirrored the expansive turns and the meticulous control of each step. She moved with a delicate swan’s grace, unaware his gaze followed her.
Chairs lined the wall, hard plastic biting into his legs as he sat among other parents observing their own children. His gaze slid, settled, memorised. Week after week, same class, same hour, same anticipation building as the music swelled. The dancers transformed … their movements blurred, their costumes a vivid, colourful explosion.
Her focus remained, her vision fixed upon a point existing within, blocking the external realm. He speculated how it would feel to hold her attention. It unsettled him at first. Later, it became familiar … comforting, even.
